Look for two things on this map: the size of the residences in the neighborhood, and the uniformity of the light-industrial "belt" that runs east-west across the map between Willoughby (on the south) and Santa Monica Blvd. (on the north). This is important because the project's defenders claim that the proposed project site is an anomaly in the area as a light industrial property..

WE REMAIN UNITED IN FIGHT!

LA BREA-WILLOUGHBY COALITION is an organization of concerned homeowners and residents of all social and economic strata who strongly oppose the La Brea Gateway Project.

The Martin Group and Bomel Company have developed the project, a building of seven stories—two commercial, two comprised of 219 residential units, and three above-ground parking area (along with one underground). The rezoning would eliminate yet another piece of fast-disappearing industrial property and jobs — with a devastating effect on the city's economy. The proposed project is completely incompatible with this neighborhood of one- and two-story residences.
